Colmec and Centrala Gummi create the leading independent player in tire service in Sweden

Colmec and Centrala Gummi merge to form the leading independent player in tire service in Sweden. The companies have established strong market positions through long-standing traditions, exceptional service solutions, and a long-term focus on high customer and employee satisfaction.

Together, Colmec and Centrala Gummi now create the leading comprehensive player in tire service in Sweden. With this as a starting point, the group has strong conditions to collectively accelerate growth and operational development.

Centrala Gummi’s operations include tire service for, among others, trucks, buses, vehicles in the mining industry, and passenger cars. Founded in 1933, the company is based in Örebro and has built a leading position in the region through a focus on safety, competence, and service beyond the ordinary, for corporate customers (large and small) and private customers. The company has approximately 25 employees in Örebro and surrounding areas and generates more than 200 million SEK in revenue.

“We are delighted to join forces with Centrala Gummi, an incredibly strong independent player in the market who shares our values and focus on the highest possible level of service combined with a comprehensive offering to its customers. Together, we gain a stronger position, geographical coverage, and service network for our national and local customers. We have a strong consensus on how to develop the joint business, and together we can accelerate growth,” says Patrick Sjölin, CEO of Colmec Group.

“We are very much looking forward to merging with Colmec. A company that shares our fundamental belief in putting customers and employees at the center. This merger creates opportunities for Centrala Gummi to grow even faster through a stronger joint offering, while gaining access to a wealth of resources and networks in the new group that will support us in taking the next step. As two knowledge leaders with a long tradition in the industry, we have all the prerequisites to develop ourselves, our employees, and the market as a whole. This is why we chose to merge with Colmec. In addition to this, the group is supported by an experienced and financially strong main owner,” says Jens Wetterstrand, CEO of Centrala Gummi.

Centrala Gummi will continue to operate under its own name and corporate identity but will become part of the Colmec Group, which has a turnover of over 1.4 billion SEK and has over 450 employees. The Colmec group has high ambitions for continued high growth rates in the coming years, both organically and through acquisitions/partnerships with skilled entrepreneurs in the tire service industry in the Nordic region.

The transaction is subject to competition approval and is expected to be completed in the month of June.
