Colmec strengths the operation in Finland by strategic acquisition of the Bandag retreader Pentep.
Pentep Oy is one of the biggest independent retreader on the Finnish market and was founded 1992. Pentep is a Bandag producer and have today customers both as tires stations, but also end users. Pentep’s very high customer focus, combined with high quality production of retreads, have built Pentep’s super strong trademark in the market.
“We are very happy that Teppo and Sari and their team at Pentep now is a part of Colmec, this will significantly grow our market share in Finland, and are in line with our groups master plan to be the biggest and most preferred supplier of tire and tire services in our markets” says Patrick Sjölin CEO of Colmec Group and continue “This also secure that we are able to take care of all used bus and truck tires in Finland for our customers, to make new retreaded tires that have a very positive impact on the environment, and are the important way forward to handle tires sustainable”.

With the acquisition of Pentep Colmec now will have retreaded Bandag products in the portfolio. “This will be a new milestone for Colmec to start up interesting strategic cooperation with Bandag and Bridgestone” says Patrick Sjölin.
Teppo and Sai Vekka will continue their work at Pentep, “Business as usual”.
The acquisition will be finalized 2024-01-31.
